Mike vs. Feral Cats
I drive a Jeep Wrangler, and like to put the top down in the summer. While it’s not officially summertime yet, the temps are in the 70’s this weekend so down the top went. However, there’s a problem. My topless Jeep’s seats are irresistible for the neighborhood feral cats. I’m an animal lover, but not a hair-caked-on-your-car-seat lover! This is an especially annoying treat at 7:30 a.m. in the morning when you are dressed nicely for work. “Hey Mike, do you have cats?” “No, I just have flea infested feral cats sleeping in my car.”
So last night I decided to put on my feline thinking cap. The result was a brilliant idea to leave the zip out windows in the front seats. My reasoning concluded cats would not want to sleep on the slippery, cold surface. This morning I ventured out to find paw prints littered all over the Jeep, including the windows in the front seats. However, it was apparent by the lack of cat hair that the cats decided the Jeep was not a suitable nesting place.
We have a winner.
Country Haters
Our departmental car at work is a pretty stylish silver Chevrolet Malibu with about 100k miles on it. With only six presets on the stock radio, I think we do a pretty good job of diversifying the music options; most trips in the car are less than a mile, so it’s important to be able to quickly switch between the stations to find a song to rock out to while dodging students crossing the street. Until recently 94.9 Star Country existed on preset 2. However, someone decided to overwrite this preset with Q99 – “The Best Mix of the 80’s, 90’s and Today.” I would be OK with this if the exact station wasn’t already programmed on preset number 5! So, I happily placed 94.9 Star Country back on preset number 2. Two days later, Q99 was back on preset number 2! Stop the insanity people! In retaliation I’ve made a country CD to place in the car. Every time I drive the car I will leave the CD playing hoping someone will get the message.
Admittedly, the CD art needs some work, but I think they'll get the point.
